§ 2.08. Compensation and expenses.
Beginning January 1, 1990, the mayor shall receive an annual salary in the amount of at least seven thousand two hundred dollars ($7,200.00), payable in equal monthly installments, and each councilman shall receive an annual salary of at least four thousand eight hundred dollars ($4,800.00), payable in equal monthly installments. Each councilman, and the mayor, when authorized by the council, and, upon presentation to the council of itemized vouchers, shall receive their actual and necessary expenses incurred in the performance of their duties of office. The city council may not change the compensation of the mayor or councilmen then in office, and may not change the compensation of any successor mayor or councilman within four (4) months of the end of the term of the incumbent council.
