§ 15-11. Parking requirements at civic center.

  • (a)

    Generally: Parking at the parking lot of the city civic center defined as that property owned by the city which is bounded on the North by West Cherokee Avenue, the East by property owned by Bartow County and School Street, the South by West Main Street and the West by Lee Street is subject to the following requirements:

    (1)

    No parking is permitted from 12:00 a.m. to 7:00 every day.

    (2)

    No vehicles over six (6) wheels and/or two and one-half (2½) tons shall be allowed to park in said parking lot at any time.

    (3)

    From 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m., parking is allowed for patrons, individuals and visitors who are participating at the function at the city civic center. However, all patrons, visitors and individuals using the parking facility must remove their vehicles no later than one (1) hour after the end of the activity at the civic center.

    (b)

    Exceptions:

    (1)

    No parking restrictions shall be imposed on election days during the approved hours for said election.

    (2)

    The director of the recreation department is authorized to grant any exceptions to this section as he deems necessary for the public's use of the civic center.

    (c)

    Signs: The director of the recreation department is authorized to post signs at the civic center to notify the public of the parking requirements.

    (d)

    Fines: Any vehicle parked at the civic center is subject to being ticketed, towed and impounded. The fine for such offense is fifty dollars ($50.00) for a first offense or greater offense, one hundred dollars ($100.00) for a second offense and two hundred dollars ($200.00) for a third or greater. Said fine shall not include any towing and/or impound costs which may be imposed by the towing and/or impoundment agent for the city or by the city itself.
