Chapter 15. PARKS AND RECREATION |
Article I. IN GENERAL |
§ 15-12. Pedestrian plaza.
The downtown pedestrian plaza shall be jointly administered by the parks and recreation department and the City of Cartersville Downtown Development Authority.
(1)
The parks and recreation department shall administer the pedestrian plaza in the same manner as all other parks in the city.
(2)
The downtown development authority is hereby authorizing pursuant to the conditions and requirements as to event, times and dates as determined by the city parks and recreation department to use the pedestrian plaza for public assemblies and gatherings, festivals and other events as approved by the city.
(3)
The downtown development authority must have a parade permit approved for any activities planned in the plaza.
(4)
The downtown development authority must within one (1) month prior to allowing any use of the plaza, provide to the parks and recreation department a synopsis of the planned activity, dates, times, and anticipated crowds.
(5)
The parks and recreation department reserves the authority to cancel any planned event at the plaza within five (5) days of the notice as provided for in subsection (4) of this section.
(6)
The city reserves the right at the sole discretion of the city manager to cancel any event planned at the plaza if in his opinion it is necessary to protect the public health, safety, and welfare of the inhabitants of the city and/or the anticipated or actual users and use of the plaza.
