§ 16-28. Holidays.

  • All regular employees except policemen and firemen shall receive the following holidays: January 1; Martin Luther King, Jr., birthday, on the day designated by the state; Good Friday; Memorial Day, the last Monday in May; July 4; Labor Day; Veterans Day, November 11; Thanksgiving Day and the Friday following Thanksgiving Day; and Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. If a holiday falls on Sunday, the employee shall receive as a holiday the Monday immediately following. If a holiday falls on Saturday, the employee shall receive as a holiday the Friday immediately preceding the holiday.
