Article III. SEXUAL HARASSMENT POLICY |
§ 16-79. Procedures regarding sexual harassment allegations.
(a)
The individual who alleges that he or she has been sexually harassed, is responsible for bringing the matter to the attention of his or her supervisor, unless the alleged harasser is the employee's supervisor. In this case, the employee should bring the allegation to the attention of the supervisor's immediate supervisor.
(b)
The appropriate supervisor will investigate the allegations including, but not limited to, conducting interviews of all involved or allegedly involved parties. If after such an investigation, the above referenced supervisor determines he or she can resolve the problem then he or she should take appropriate action to do so.
(c)
If, however, after such an initial investigation said supervisor determines that the allegations warrant further investigation, then at that time he or she will take the allegations and his or her findings to the city manager for further investigation, if necessary, and for the appropriate action.
(d)
If said supervisor takes what he or she deems to be appropriate action, and either the accuser or the alleged harasser is dissatisfied with said action, then either of them may request a meeting with the city manager to discuss his or her dissatisfaction as well as other possible appropriate action to correct the alleged problem. The city manager shall then take the action he deems appropriate to resolve the situation.
