§ 25-39. Drivers of animal-drawn vehicles.

  • In addition to the requirements imposed upon all drivers for hire, drivers of animal-drawn vehicles shall be required to comply with the following:

    (1)

    Each driver must have in his possession a completed trip sheet, the form of which shall be provided by the owner for the vehicle he is driving and his or her current shift. Said trip sheet shall be submitted to the inspector within thirty (30) days.

    (2)

    Drivers must have a working knowledge and general experience involving livestock and driving carriages or animal-drawn vehicles.

    (3)

    In addition to the requirements for drivers for all vehicles for hire, applicants for driver permits for animal-drawn vehicles for hire must demonstrate a general working knowledge of large animals, mainly horses and mules.

    (4)

    Companies must provide new drivers with a five-day driver-apprentice training program, and guidelines for and the results of such programs shall be submitted to the City of Cartersville.

    (5)

    Drivers must have a valid Georgia drivers license, and shall not have been convicted of DUI within five (5) years of operating under this article.
