§ 2-37. Dissents and protests.

Any councilmember shall have the right to express dissent from or protest against any ordinance or resolution of the council to and have the reason therefor entered upon the journal. Such dissent or protest must be filed in writing, couched in respectful language, and presented to the council not later than the next regular meeting following the date of passage of the ordinance or resolution objected to.
