§ 2-128. Claims against the city.

  • If upon the presentation of claims against the city, the council by resolution duly adopted in open council meeting directs the city clerk to pay off such claims, it shall be the duty of the treasurer to pay the claim out of any funds in his hand not raised for extraordinary purposes, taking receipts therefor from each payee for the sum paid to each, referring in each receipt to the particular resolution of the council by date of the meeting at which it was adopted, under which payment was made. Such receipt shall be his sufficient voucher for all money so paid out by him.
