§ 9-17. Fire marshal.

(a)

The fire marshal shall be designated by the fire chief and shall be responsible for the enforcement of all fire regulations, codes, and laws that have been adopted by the city council or federal and state laws or regulations required to be enforced by local fire officials.

(b)

The fire chief shall have the authority to designate assistant fire marshals, as needed, who shall report to and be under the direction and supervision of the fire marshal.

(c)

The assistant fire marshal shall assist the fire marshal in the performance of the job responsibilities of that position as outlined by the city codes.
