§ 2.02. Qualifications for mayor and councilmen.

To be eligible for the office of mayor or councilman (elected or appointed), a person must be at least twenty-five (25) years of age, must meet the requirements of a qualified elector for members of the General Assembly, and must have been a bona fide resident of the City of Cartersville for at least one (1) year next preceding the election in which he or she offers as a candidate, and must be a qualified voter in said city. To be eligible for the office of councilman, a person must be a resident of the ward from which he seeks office.
