§ 3.10. Oath of office.

Latest version.

Before a person takes any office in the city government, he shall take before an officer of the state, authorized to administer oaths, the following oath or affirmation:
"I solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support the Constitution of the United States and of the State of Georgia; that I will in all respects, observe the provisions of the charter and ordinances of the City of Cartersville, and that I will faithfully discharge the duties of the office of ___________.
