§ 23-18. Streets and related improvements.

  • Each subdivider shall be required to install, at his own expense, streets and related improvements according to the following specifications:

    (1)

    All streets shall be cleared and grubbed to the full right-of-way width.

    (2)

    All streets shall be graded to a sufficient width to provide at least a seven-foot walkway on each side of the roadway surface. Finished grades shall be approved by the city engineer or other appropriate city official.

    (3)

    The planning commission may require sidewalks near commercial areas, schools, and other places of public assembly, and areas of intensive residential development such as apartment areas.

    (4)

    Streets shall be surfaced according to standards and specifications adopted by the council.

    (5)

    Curbs and gutters shall be installed according to standards and specifications approved by the council, and installation shall be done according to plans and specifications approved by the city engineer.
