§ 4-200. Establishment, composition.

  • (a)

    There is hereby established an alcohol control board (sometimes referred to as the "ACB"), which shall consist of five (5) residents of the city. However, up to two (2) council members may serve on said board, instead of the post 1 and post 2, appointee. The chairman of the alcohol control board shall be designated and appointed by the city council.

    (b)

    All other members of the alcohol control board shall also be chosen and appointed by the city council. All members shall serve terms, and occupy posts as follows:

    (1)

    Post 1. A resident of the city, serving four-year term.

    (2)

    Post 2. A resident of the city, serving four-year term.

    (3)

    Post 3. A resident of the city, serving a three-year term.

    (4)

    Post 4. A resident of the city, serving a three-year term.

    (5)

    Post 5. A resident of the city, serving a three-year term.

    (c)

    Each member shall serve his specified term and/or until his successor is appointed and qualified, unless a city council member, then their term is concurrent with their term of office.

    (d)

    In all actions by the alcohol control board, all members of the alcohol control board shall be eligible to vote.

    (e)

    The vote of three (3) members shall be required to approve any action. The board shall adopt bylaws to govern its meetings and rules for conducting the same.

    (f)

    For every meeting attended, said members shall be paid thirty-five dollars ($35.00) per meeting.
