§ 9-12. Physical condition of firemen.
The fire chief and all firemen shall be in general good health and free from any infectious disease and from any other disease or bodily impairment that would render them inefficient for the service. They shall possess normal vision and hearing. The city manager may require the chief, any firemen or any applicant for such positions, to undergo physical examination as often as may be deemed necessary before or after they enter upon their duties. It shall be the duty of the physician making the examination to submit a written report to the city manager regarding the existence or nonexistence of any infectious disease or bodily impairment, defect of vision or hearing, or other condition impairing the efficiency of the person examined.
